We finally had a REALLY nice day to Playday on.  The
show started at 1pm at the Golden Triangle arena in
Irving.  We exhibitioned Happy and Turbo and
Hemi
got to be at his first playday.  Playdays are nice
because it teaches horses to listen since they can't
second guess the patterns.  It also breaks up the
monotony of always doing the same pattern over and
over.  Besides barrels and poles other patterns were
the "Flying W", the "Spur", Three Barrel Straight Away
just to name a few of the patterns everyone got to run.

Mike Aldridge and 14 year old student Christine Shaw
rode Turbo, Kay Kooyman rode Happy and
Tricia
Aldridge rode Hemi.
Tricia and Hemi running the Spur.
Once Hemi figured out what he was
supposed to do, he stepped on the gas.
Tricia better practice her stops a little more
though, this one about gave her mom a heart
attack!
Kay and Happy running the Spur.
Since Happy got to go to the Spring Break
Martha Josey Barrel Racing Clinic he is a
little farther along on pattern racing then our
other three year olds.

Christine some pointers about her
next run on Turbo.

arena while the pattern is reset.
Great Job!!!
Not bad for Christine's first horse show ever!

having a
really bad
hair day.

she can get better pictures!

the pole.
Hemi is learning the "Pylon"
pattern.  He didn't know what to
make of all of those cones!  He
was looking for barrels!
First time Turbo gets to run!!!
Turbo will be turning three next month, so
we are just starting to let him run every
now and then.  He sure is a natural at it
though.  We start our babies slow and
steady so they learn to enjoy running
without getting to hyper.

Get up and Go Hemi!!!
